Default Clarification required on ETFs

Hello all,

I read about ETFs and found them interesting. I have some doubts over them.

1. Are they popular in India? Because I haven't seen any active discussion over ETF in our forum. How do they compare to FNO in terms of liquidity?

2. I know short selling is allowed, but can the short positions be carried over night, just like in FNO?

Thanks,
Praveen.

I searched in Net, but couldn't figure out whether short position can be carried over night or not.

Any idea?

Just to clarify, ETFs in India can be shorted intraday, but can't be taken delivery, similar to Shares.

Hope I'm correct.

intraday shorting no probs since it belongs to the EQ series. but cant sleep with your short.

but volume still a problem. etf's are excellent instrument. but sadly no takes here in India. better look into mini nifty
