What's your view on this? should i hold on to them or book the loss?

stocks/indexes generally trade within a range unless there is some news effecting the company/market. sensex is currently trading between 15500 - 16500, currently trading precisely at 16093.

low point is the support, and high point is resistence .
if it moves above 16500 we call it breakout(of range)
similarly breakdown below 15500.

if it moves out of the range a new support/resistence is calculated.

How do we measure risk. Can VaR considered to be a 'reliable' tool for measuring risk?
