Question Bonus issue

Which date is considered for the issue of bonus shares?

Suppose I sell a company's shares today & if they declare the bonus issue on 2nd Nov, will I be able to get the bonus shares (thinking that the date considered would be as on 31st March)?

P.S. Since this is my 1st post, I hope I've posted it in the right topic/thread. If not, then please accept my apologies...

after the company declares bonus, it also declares a record date. all those who possess the shares on the record date will get the bonus shares. The record date is declared much after the date of announcement of the bonus.
