NEWS NO :1
Tea planter Mcleod Russel India Ltd. plans to invest 600 million rupees in jatropha cultivation over the next 2-3 years, its top official said on Monday.

This is the first time the company is foraying into jatropha cultivation.

The company plans to invest 150 million rupees to boost orthodox tea production to 10 million kg by 2007/08 from 3 million kg, Managing Director Aditya Khaitan told reporters.

Mcleod Russel expects exports to fall to 22 million kg in 2007/08 from 25 million kgs, he said. Its total production is about 75 million kilos of tea.

"This is because of the hardening of the rupee and lack of demand," Khaitan said, adding he expected better market conditions and realisations in the second half of the year.

The Indian rupee has risen 10 percent against the dollar to a nine-year high, making Indian products costlier abroad.

Shares in the company fell 1 percent to 59.50 rupees in the Mumbai market.

SO THAT IT WILL GOOD TO ADD IN YOUR PORTFOLIO.

Hello,

I agree Mcleod is a excellent long term investment being largest tea producer in country and agressive management. But commodities are too cyclic and depends totally upon the parameter irrespective of quality of management ( See what has happened to Sugar stocks - Even Renuka Sugar like company has falled from above 1600 to 468 ).

I would suggest some more agressive scripts ( Like IFCI ) for better short term returns.

Regards,

Anil

my dear friend

u talked abt commodities. i also agree with the cyclical trend of the commodities. but nt focus the mec rusl rawmatreial purchasing system

each and every good companies have their own business model

business model in the sense the margin of profit when we talked abt the business model taking the example of the IBM and HP

IBM the giant in the computer industry ......

why they sold the personal computer business t0 lenovo......

the reason behind that is IBM always focus on the

FAT margin of the profit so in personal computer business hp focus on the thin margin of the profit so i leave this business and focus on the software industry and they acquired the DAKSH BPO. in bpo the profit margin is fat so it will appropriate with ibm business model.....

from this example i want to show u that MAC Russels have a business model is

MULTI PLANTATION ACTIVITY so that the cyclical trend of the commodity is depends on the geography of the continent and country

from mac russels the multi plantation is appropriate so it will good for short term

on the other hand u talked abt IFCI........

my dear IFCI is on the other business pie........

analyze the business pie and than identify the index item and group in which the item is correlate the industry and than identify the standard deviation of the particular industry and than identify the business group risk ticker....

so nt compare mac ruseel and ifci.......

bye bye and have a nice day
