Not quite correct , Pankaj

Day/swing traders thrive on such volatility, as is well known.

What I can't figure out , though , is how do they know which way each day will turn out to be

They make their jobs look so easy .. just buy low and sell hgh (or sell high first .. then cover up) ... and go home each day some 2-10 K richer

Makes me envious

Just a thought..
I see many people cry foul over recent market crash . They blame it on market maker etc.
I think the problem is due to lack of disciplined trading . Why trade when market is flashing many distribution days.
Experienced people would have noticed the way in which mkt was heading for past 2 months. Even after declaring good results , stocks were stalling or crashing. Hardly any new- highs. Increased volatility and more down days. All these gave enough indication of impending bear.
Time to buy some PA and cover losses!!

After the crash in May, rally which begun has not been well spread. I mean not all sectors. Watch out, Sugar never recovered, Cement crashed, banks crashed Real estate crashed FMCg never recovered. Its high time take a close look in ur Portfolios and be very very careful and choosy.

I brought a couple of PA after counting 4 distribution days and sold them yesterday afternoon , I am sitting on very good profit.

Yesterday's recovery is an attempted one and one has to careful till the budget. If mkt goes up on heavy volume it is a sign of potential uptrend
