Hello Friends,

I am a new member on traderji. I was reading the threads in software section and now I am totally confused which software should I use for technical analysis. I request all senior members to please help starters to choose a free software, how to install, how to feed the data and other imp things.

My requirement for the software is:

1. Good charting
2. it should show most of the indicators
3. It should be able to tell me which are the gainers today, over a week, over a month and over a specified period ie 3 or 5 days
4. It should be able to chart sector indices given I select stocks in a particular sector
5. It should be able to report me which are the sectors doing good and which are doing bad

Please give the complete details about installation, where to get the data, how to import the data and other imp information.

This information will be very vital for all the beginners. I will be very thankful for this help.

Hello Harish,

Try Fibotrader if you want a free software. There are also other good softwares like Amibroker, Metastock,etc.

Already there is plenty of discussion on them. Please go through them AGAIN slowly. You can find all your answers there. If not able to find, post them. Our friends will help you out.

All commonly used software like Amibroker, Metastock, Fcharts, Fibotrader, Advanced Get etc. meet ur requirements. Though you may find the user interface of some easier. Roam in the forum for sometime to learn about installation, data feed etc and how others compare each of them.
