Default FCHART Problems

I have some problems in my FCHART data which require solutions from the learned members, please respond.

I have loaded NSE data from 1999 to current date in FCHART. I used Satya's data Extractor for downloading the data.

Problems:

1) From FCHARTS it is noted that Some charts like hindalco are improper as the data loaded (BhavCopy) had duplicate records due to EQ series and other series like BE, E1, N1, P1 etc.

a) Is there a way to solve this in FCHART itself?

or

b) Is it that I have to reload the data completely after removing unwanted series from the data files.

C) Incase I have to reload the data after filtering suppose only EQ series, Is there a programme available to do them in one shot as the no. of files are many?

2) Is there a way to tune FCHART to adjust for split shares?

Regards
Chachi

to my knowledge, this is an issue external to FCharts and to be solved outside only.

i think it is better to reload the data to make it work without ambuiguity.

i don't know if such series selection is possible in other sw also, but in the latest version of pankaj's download converter, there is a facility to select only EQ series. or only BE series or ALL series. in the next version, you may have the facility to select EQ and BE series also.

yes, you may go to FCharts >> settings >> price adjustments >> stock splits.
FCharts does not make the suggestion of a possible split to a stock on a particular date, like amibroker does.

again in one of the next versions of download converter, pankaj is likely to bring out a feaure to identify the stocks that 'might' have undergone a stock-split, to help users to check-up and feed into FCharts.

also please make a visit also the last few posts of the thread, which are relevant to this topic.:

chachi,

in the inital version of DE, i too faced this problem.

DE 2.0 elminates the duplicates in both EQ and BE Series. So, you dont find duplicates when you run it.

Also, the only solution for the existing problems is, DELETE ALL and IMPORT ALL.

Sorry to say that.

Dear Satya,

Wooow, i think I have older version of DE. I am still using it to great effect, except for the above mentioned problem. Thanks for the nice info that this problem is taken care in the newer version. i will look at it.

Mean while is it possible for u to make a script which can filter (like a batch file, at one shot) only BE and EQ series from the older excel files (hundreds of them since 1999) I have downloaded from using your DE.

I am thinking to use excel macro for the purpose. But preparing a script may be an easier idea and I am not good at it. You may be of some help in this.

Thank you very much

send me the list of scrips, I will send you individual txt files which you can feed to FCharts.

This way, it will save you lots n lots of work.

Dear Satya,

Thank you for the positive response. Hindalco I quoted as just an example. I undersatnd your busy schedule. I will do whatever is required.

Dear MrthySir,

One more problem for me in using FCharts, I forget to mention earlier...

NSE Symbol change: Many a times NSE is changing the symbols and hence when we load the Historical data, new scrip name will be added automatically by Fcharts. There will be a discontinuity for the scrip. Example:- I think Hindustan Construction Company, Symbol changed from HINDCONS to HCC. This also is a problem with the data and not with Fcharts, I know.

Is there a way to solve this in Fcharts? I got all the changed symbols at http://www.nseindia.com/content/equi...mbolchange.csv

Please guide.

regards
chachi

dear chachi,

FCharts >> settings >> price adjustments >> stock rename.

"The Stock Rename feature lets you change all occurrences of one code into another. Just enter the original code and the new code and click 'Do It'."

hope it will meet your needs.

Once again Thank you very much sir. Hope you have pardoned my ignorence, not exploring Fcharts before posting. Infact I have been using Fcharts since about 6 months without tuning all these (lame excuse is that I was not getting enough time ). Now My Fchart system will be perfect.
