Odin Data

#1
Dear Every One,

I am using Odin for my clients trading, and the problem comes when the day get end. From the day I started my company i am saving my saudas by CCP - Cut Copy Past in Excel File to keep my individual Track record. Every Work sheet is name by my client name & client Id.

I also take online back up it generates file in .txt format.

My problem: Is there any way where my excel file takes the data automatically from .txt file and each and every sauda is saved individually in my clients work sheet.

Thanks,
Sumit Jain

hi sumit,
what i understand from your problem, instead of making different worksheets for each client put in good use of the "Filter" function in excel.

but since you are in business, its always wise to do business in a professional way. invest in a software, it will keep off a lots of hassles and headache.

cheers,
jdm.

:D Thanks for the reply!!!

These small business applications are not available in the market and so one has to either get it done from any of the software vendor or have to make on our own.

What i think to get data from txt format file is easy but is there any other out to solve the problem ?

Thanks

You can open the text file in excel and then use the filter function as suggested by JDM to copy and then paste data in other worksheets. This task can be automated using a macro in excel.

Else, Access has very good solution to your problem. You need to create a table in which daily data is appended. From a parameter query, you can generate client-wise reports w/o duplicating data and thus putting burden on your computer resources.

Hi Sufin
Try google on features of "import external data in excel". This may help you.
To start with.....
Open excel>>go to data>>import external data>>import data>>change file filter to xls>>and choose the file from which you are copy pasting.
Play with it with the diff options you get.

Hope this helps.
