Newbie in TA

Hi,
I'm new in TA and have read a couple of books regarding it. I've finally decided to take the plunge, and with some research have decided to purchase Metastock EOD, and subscribe for Viratech StocksUP EOD.

Before I commit, could you please let me know if this is a wise decision.
