Dear frind

What is hectic? I dont see any body can trade the markets successfully with out doing home work. If you con't afford some time for collecting historical data (Free of cost) what can I say? There is no free lunch in the markets. One must work hard. Every one must experiment with different indicators and develop their own method trading. Traders use historical or Real time data for this purpose. This forum is supposed for sharing knowledge and minimising trading costs. If you can afford you can go for paid data or satisfy with java charts. I found this source of data is suitable for me and using it for many years (Meta stock and advanced get) successfully.

I fully endorse your views ,your this post has instilled a hope that i will be able to get RT Data in Metastock,FREE,will try on Monday.By the by you may be personally requested by few to stop educating us.

Dear Satya

I use 20 period EMA pullback once the trend is well defined. When the prices pullback near or below the 20 period EMA, One can take entry when the price cross above the 20 EMA and protective stop goes low of the previous bar that you have entered. Please note that it is not a Holi Grail entry that is why Ii mentioned protective stop.

I have downloaded ur replace file and started using it.I was ok for few days. But from last 3 days we found that the quotes were delayed . even though it shows the latest time,, it was showing delayed quotes.And also found that it starts after 15 mins the markets starts. ie, the quotes start appearing from 10: 15 only, but the quote is of 9 55 am. but it shows time as 10 15 am.Any remedy?.Pls reply

On Yahoo finance : http://in.finance.yahoo.com/exchanges
i could see that yahoo itself pics up data from NSE . so i personally feel that subscribing to data feeds from NSE rather than Yahoo should be more quick.
Friends please put your experiences.....

NSE linked with Qt is very slow. whether it is realtime or not is doublfule. u cannot follow more than 1 or 2 stocks.

Dear Mohan

Yahoo finance server starts release quotes 15 min after markets open (other than BSE/NSE INDICIES) But once started quotes are delayed just 3 to 5 min. Please notice all other Indices like CNX BANK,CNX IT,CNX FMCG AND OTHER MAJOR BSE FMCG,BSE IT, BSE CG,etc., starts quoting as and when markets opens. Infact I noticed the nifty quotes on CNBC matches quotes on Quote Tracker. So the indices data is Real time data and stocks data is delayed data.

please note that quote traker trail verson backfill only two days data.Once we plugin FCharts to quote traker we can backfill tick data n number of days and same can be utilised for charting.
