Free Stock Analysis software with Realtime & EOD Data

Hi all,

There are a lot of open source software for Technical analysis. They include Blog trader(AIO trade), iTrade, Market Analysis System and Eclipse Trader to mention a few. ALL these Softwares are worthy of individual threads like Amibroker, Metastock.. Why dont you guys who have the software up and running, start individual threads with a detailed procedure of installation and common mistakes a novice might commit.

vravikiran, have u used any of the softwares. I tried few of them but could not succeed in getting them to work. just see page 4 where i had posted the problem. If you can guide me out, then it wuold be great.

Hi all,
Well i have tried swec, aiotrader, eclipse trader, needForTrade. But i find each of them having some drawbacks.
1. SWEC: Very damn slow(so slow that it is irrating) I am using it in my laptop with 256 MB ram. Eats RAM like anything. Crashes frequently. Apart from that, It has good looks and feel. Very userfriendly.
2. aiotrader: was unable to start the program. The data were not dowloaded. It said "downloading data" and then nothing happened. X axis showing something like 1/1/71 or something like that.
3. Eclipse trader: Good software, and good interface but no William %R(which i use sometimes). Also the charts are not updating automatically. and i want help in this field.
4. Need for trade: Just like swec, but faster. But the data is not being downloaded. The error message is "Wrong Bars returned from *****".

Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated

Hi

I download "aiotrader". Now trying to use this, no problems were seen upto now. I am not go all options. After monday only its support on real time data will be rnd. I want to know how the formulas can be added to it by us.

Dear friends

I found one source to get realtime data from ***** finance.
1. Download quote traker free trail verson from http://www.quotetracker.com. Install it.

2.Quotetraker supports only NSE real time data which is delayed by 15 min and indicies delayed by 5 min.To support ***** finance data please download replace zip from http://www.************/file/12813345...23/Replae.html

3. Install quotetraker and open replace zip copy all fiels and go to programme files click on quotetraker folder and paste all copied fiels.

4.Run quote traker programme press menu(on the righside of window) and click web updates. After completion of web update close and restart the programme. You will find in site place ***** HK,TW,SI,JK,KS,INDIA(NS). Select the same. Add to portfolio ***** Finane symbles Ex ^NSEI (NIFTY),ABB.NS, ACC.NS,RPL.NS etc.,you can add scrips as many as you wish. I have tested up to 200+.Select refresh button auto mode 20 sec. You will find FIRST TIME NIFTY QUOTE DELAYED BY OLNLY 30 SEC AND other quotes 1 to 3 min after they start quote.

5.Download FCharts freeware software from www.spacejock.com install and run it.Connect it to Quote traker plugin.(Just press intraday butten located in leftside in the main menu. View all the charts in 1,2,3,5,10,15,30,60,120 minuts combination with clear view.

please note that quote traker trail verson backfill only two days data.Once we plugin FCharts to quote traker we can backfill tick data n number of days and same can be utilised for charting.

The solution you have provided is the easiest. The combination does not eat up system resources like java based s/w does. I feel this is the best way to start TA.

Thanks vravikiran for your feed back

I have been using this method last 15 days without any bugs or problems. It is totally trouble free. Presently I am tracking 110 scrips. I have tick data for all the scrips for last 15 days which was automatically saved by FCharts. As you rightly pointed out this method is not sucking system resources as I am using P2 and I run other programs beside browsing during the trading hours.

Any valuable feedback/suggestions are appreciated.
