hi friends
can any body suggest some good software for daytrading and swing trading indian stocks?
By the way,
-----------------------------------------------------------
WHAT CRITERIA THE SOFTWARE is expected to fulfil?
1.be simple, provide signals that succeed over 70 to 80% of the time, and provide signals in the direction of sensex movement, help follow trends
2.provide warning alert and risk control
3.minimise money locked up in margin
4.minimum number of positions at anytime
5.provide signals to trade whenever you want to trade,10am to 3-10pm
6.show only stuff that is right now demanding action, either place buy or sell order or any protective action
7.If possible, provide exit alerts, guidance,in case of a crash of index over 200 points or 150 points.
8.Last but not least ,always help save capital,STRICTLY avoid going for Auctionin daytrading.
In case of swingtrading, How the software can prevent my trading capital going bust, when market crashes by 400 or 800 points?
----------------------------------------------------------
thanks

hi Boppanavijay

Thanks.
I got reply from damodaran.regarding his softwares.
They seem costly. intraday and long term, ABOUT 2000 rupees a month.
are you using them?
how is the performance?

he offered a 5 day free trial.
i dont use metastock.
i wonder if his softwares are worth the cost.

by the way on what basis the signals come? can u give me some hints please?
in how many days or weeks the software can pay off its cost?

what kind of money i need to begin? say 2 laks is ok?

regards

rvlv, Amibroker is the best. There are free alternatives in the software section and EOD data is also free from the yahoo groups.
Intraday data is also available from yahoo, one of our members has a thread on how to get it.
Unless you are scanning for a set of criteria or using custom indicators, the free software is more than enough.

Hi Rvlv

Try AB trial version, it does not allow you to save data, but with some tweaking outside Amibroker, you can always have those data as history which you can import before the market starts(for example downloading and merging using excel, simple copy paste, the intraday data is available free from one of the yahoo group, you can dig the link I am sure, and maintain those consolidated files) and then
use the excel sheet I have posted in Amibroker thread, for this I will give you the link.

or download it directly from

Do I ever miss a chance to advertise :D

Also, look into the thread

to get an insight of using Amibroker and developing a trading system. I have seen your other posts, they are just great. Thanks for them.

Once you are satisfied with Amibroker, you can get it at a one time cost. Worth investing.

Best Regards
Coool.

If you are just starting, don't pay a penny for software or data. Use the free data sources with the trial Amibroker and if you feel you need the full version only then buy it.
You can download AB from the Amibroker website.
>what best use can I make of it for trading?
Entirely upto you and the skills you develop.
