I tried using the Excel Sheet to transfer data to Fcharts. But i recieved an error 13: Type Mismatch error. No way out. Help

Did you try theFChart help sheet?
You need to make some adjustment as pointed by MurthyGaru.

Hi MurthySir & Cool,

Inspired by cooltetra I have developed a Stock chart viewing xls file. Please go thru the attachment. If it is of any help, I will be glad. The charts are from yahoo site and hence there are some delays of about 15 minutes (too much!!!) for Intraday, and 5 day charts. 3 Month chart also surprisingly is not being properly updated by yahoo and it lags about 1 day.

I have also tried various other sites like NSE and BSE for the charts, problem being very slow loading in comparision to yahoo. But the data will not be lagging much from BSE & NSE site. May be cooltetra may try from NSE/BSE sites for loading charts. Presently as a sample I have given chart from Yahoo site.

Once again I emphasize here that I could do this only by getting some clue & lots of inspiration from cooltetra's efforts.

the macro is available on the Sheet (not in the module)

Nice work, chked out after market hours so got no delays!

You can also include charts for the index. As on yahoo the index symbol starts with ^ and it will not be appended with .NS need to do slight modification in code.

Hi Sanjay,

Thanx for the compliments. Also thank you for the tips on how to tweak in indices. I will work on that. I could not customise further due to lack of time.

I wanted to make it with selectable parameters, yet to find good methods.
Appreciate if somebody carryforward this work.

hi chachi,
it's a wonderful experience being in this forum. giving stimulates more giving.
i have run your excel sheet and is working, with limitations already indicated by you. but they are all limitations at source.

1) you may include indices as suggested by sgm.

2) give some choice of TA parameters to user so that user may customise as per his requirement.

3) some members may be trading on BSE. you may think of adding BSE also in later versions. as BSE codes are in numbers, you may have to give names also, as peoples memory is short.

4) historical charts from yahoo are delayed by a day. to partly overcome the problem, you may load the 5 day chart also (in a separate sheet) in addition to the historical chart selected. i,.e, it will optionally load the 5 day chart also.

5) to partly overcome the 15 min delay, you may add the option to show the comparative chart with an index, giving option to the user to select the index.

6) if you want to revise the sheet as per user requests, you may post in a separate thread & i will add the link to my post, which prodes link to your thread.

hi swagat,

it is not really very clear how i can help you. but you may follow these guidelines to sequentially and report you problem. this may help you overcome the problem.

1) read the help file provided by cool alongwith the sheet, particularly the help file pertaining to FCharts.

2) i made a post providing an amendment to cool's help file.

3) you might have started FCharts and pressed intraday to open the 'Live Data window.

4) you please indicate what entries you made into the various boxes. these have to match with what is given in the help file.

5) you have to start the CoolRC excel sheet & press the refill list and select the 'sheet 'setup'. hope you have done it.

please post a detailed report after reading the help and following it.

i have chacked the program once again & the same is working and feeding data into Fcharts to give intraday charting.

hope it works for you too.
