Respected Tradeji and all other seniors, knowledgables and other juniors of this forum, This is a small utility ---which I made ---in request from Karthick---a very senior and honourable member of this forum---from whom I m obliged in learning many a new things--- This utility basically converts the EOD NSE bhavcopy ---(in .csv formal) to Metstk compatable excel format in a new folder withen the directory ---where the EOD files r generally stored by the respective users-- After the required conversion---The MetaStock downloader can take care of the remaining part--- I will be previledged if knowledgable forum members give necessary Comments regarding the improvement of the utility --- Regards, joy_mitali |

Hi Joy
I downloaded the xls file and used it on the file downloaded by me through my downloader and it worked quickly without delay. That is the power of Excel. I think my software has to compete with the speed of your's otherwise it will be thrown out of the forum by the members. I will also work on the speed. You have made some other software given in the forum like pivot point calculator. If you integrate all these it will make a great combination of excel utilities at one point. Regards Pankaj |

Hello Pankaj,
Thanks --for ur review---By the way---ur utility can be termed as a software---while mines remains in a stage of utility---I m working in a diff --excel utility now---and have succeeded in the isolation of company data---along with technical indicators--- I would like to know---what more staff can be included in this utility of mines--- Also---if u have made any development ---in plotting charts---do let me know--Plz-- Wishing u --from the core of my heart---a true success---both in terms of speed--and stability----of ur software--- Regards, joy_mitali |

Thanks a lot for appreciation wishing me well in developping software. I would say it is traderji.com's software and not mine.Have a look and tell me how to do some things. Excel is not very different if you are doing it in vba as I could see in some of your earlier utility.I will suggest common control screen from where you can launch in to specific utility and then come back to it. You could add a thought of the day startup. I love your quotations. I think you can do charting in excel though not tried myself. You can filter companies on the basis of certain parameters such as PL,cash reserv, book value,PE, sales growth , turnover growth and combine it with technical price action and determine if it is a good candidate for investment on long term basis by taking into account sectoral outlays planned by the planning commission as that is a good document which will indicate the future policies. just a thought. After all things are interrelated and sentiments and price actions are also linked to the directional thrust given by the Govt and Industries as a whole. Regards Pankaj |

Excellent convertor. Great Work. But How to update NSE indices ? As they are not included in bhavcopy. Please also try to develop same type of utility for FO & BSE. Good luck and congrats. Hasobha |

This is great work . How can I download converted csv files for commodities ? If I create a new folder in METASTOCK & create the commodity scrips there , is it possible by the downloader to extract the commodity data only in the respective folder ? What is the best method ? |
