EOD Download/ Convert from NSE and BSE

There are many EOD downloaders including Excel sheets which are easy to use and available in this forum. Do search for them and see if they meet your requirement.

When I cleared EOD_BSE and then again downloaded only BSE Indices data , I got the correct set of data for each indices. Also checked with them in Converted folder for dates and symbols. Same data was present except that in converted folder BSE30 was used instead of sensex.

So you can goto Option>>Database Functions>>Clear database>>Clear EOD_BSE and then download only indices for 2//7/2008 to 8/8/2008 and also convert. Then you check if there is correct data. Your control tables are same as in original table so I think the above idea should give more clear picture.

However I will keep looking for any issues with database as your mdb is saved for more analysis.I will post anything if I am able to find.

Let me get the feedback from rpc . Meanwhile you can post error.log file and one of your sample file to analyse.

Hello,

I have finally found the problem that I have been having.

I download the file in .csv format the PR ZIP file.
The downloaded file has all the fields and the data.
Once converted the file has nothing but the 'ticker' data.

Am I the only one having this issue?
I hope you will help me with this problem.

Hi Neo

EODDlc does download PR.zip file but not for converting data from it. The reason being, PR.zip files are not archived by NSE so historical downloads are not possible. Once it is missed, there is no way you get that file unless someone does it for you.

EODDlc uses Bhavcopy . Main difference between this and Pr files is that PR files contains Indices data and volume. It also contains Company Names. But EODDlc can download its own indices data and delivery data and calculate volumes. AS data is stored in same database, it gets included in converted files.

So I , personally do not see much merit in PR files except that they are Press releases and contains many other useful files. So EODDlc downloads it automatically and stores useful data in database and the same is used in Stock information page.But conversion does not take place from their data files.

Now coming to your ticker problem,if you are converting pd or pr file through 'Other' option then there may be some issue with sequence. If you could be more specific then I may track down issue and help you.

Hi

Some sort of help file I am putting together so that members become familiar with what each command/menu item means and how it all functions. It will also explain the structures and logic that I followed( mostly learned from this great forum).

Help file will be, hopefully ,ready by weekend.

Later, I plan a more tightly integrated help file with the various functions itself.

Hi all

Urgent update for those who download NCDEX data.

due to changes in data file served from NCDEX , found today,
I had to correct it quickly.

Although if you are using file based conversion then it will not have any problem but in case you are using database then this version is must.

EODDlc ver 2.2.5 (Only at skydrive )

There is no other change so far. Not needed for those who don't use NCDEX and Database option.

I am awaiting rpc's feedback before any other change is initiated in other modules.

Next release will be with addition of NASDAQ and streamlining of functions. Work under progress and review.

MCX appears to be Down today for Market data. I am getting this message

are others also getting same error msg ?
