EOD Download/ Convert from NSE and BSE

Hai,
Pankaj.I am new to this thread.I read all posts and confussions in it.Bcaz of the s/w updated with patch so many times.So if I want to use this s/w first time then which s/w to download.Please guide me

Hi Vijay

First download Setup from Skydrive link (which includes MDAC_TYP) and install. Then Download Patch and copy the exe to programme folder. That's all.

I have installed new HDD in my laptop and installed exactly the way you have advised and downloaded BSE indices from 2/Jul/08 to 1/Aug/08.I am enclosing the sensex.txt I dont know why I am still not able to get the correct quotes.

I downloaded from 2/jul/08 to 1/Aug/08 using ver 2.2.23. Only BSE Indices and this is what I got

I am not quite sure how you end up with more data then what will be downloaded and inserted into DB.

you can download only DB and put it in DATA folder. Ensure that EOD_BSE is cleared of all data (goto options Database Admin >>Clear Database>>Clear EOD_BSE and then download only these dates. Once done please zip the mdb file and BSE>>Indices Folder with all its content and upload it to your public folder giving me the link in post so that I can download it and analyse its content.you can also send file through y a h oo mssn /g o o gle talk when I am online.

I might be able to find what's troubling your version of programme.

I have gone through your files. For these dates files are coming in non-standard form. I also tried to download for these dates and still got the similar files. Ver 2.2.23 will get stuck here as you would have noticed in error.log file.The strange thing is that files contain data for more than the total stocks listed so some data are repeated twice or thrice. This you can verify by opening in Excel and ordering symbol field. There are gaps in between lines so EODDlc throws up exceptions and stops.Even data is not entered into Db.

I have changed certain parameters to take care of these issue. However conversion from files will not eliminate duplicate records. So better option would be to convert from database.


As you have downloaded lots of data from NSE so I have converted these dates and put in zipped format and rar format four files each.

You can download these files.

Also new version 2.2.24 as a result of your feedback is being uploaded for which I will put links in next post.

Please notify when you have downloaded these files. I will delete them due to certain disadvantageous quota restrictions.

I must thank you for your feedback and responding to my queries and requests so fast.

ok i have downloaded your file now you can delete attached files but converting from database is very slow and some times it shows message that data not found first download the data and then begin conversion and then when i close that pop up window then again the conversion process begins



and you really made a such a nice software

and if u can add the dowjones data also then that will be much better

Hi

Speed will depend on computer config and RAM available. If you convert large data you will experience this. For daily data updation , it will be just fine.

That popup window is for delivery data when it is not found in Delivery folder. Normally I expected users to download delivery data as well. That is why when popup is closed, Conversion process just continues and delivery data is taken as zero.

dowjones , from their site is a paid datalink. From Y a h oo I can get it easily but users have expressed concerns in past about y a h oo data so not yet included. NASDAQ may come in next major update.
