EOD Download/ Convert from NSE and BSE

I checked up with Fibotrader.Data do get imported in FIBO though some work is required to select each fields since names of header are not in sync with what is expected by Fibo.

The best way to do that is to empty all your converted folders in BSE or NSE.
Then download EOD files. Convert with Metastock Headers and using only Symbol, name Open high low close and vol. Use stock wise symbols. Once done start Fibo tarder. Select Quoteman/Data sources. Select Import from ASCII folder and Point to Stockwise folder. Data will be shown in Fields tab

Check if Header names matches with data shown. select proper header name by clicking on each header. Save this as template say eoddlc and Select folder MyFolder or something(you can create two folders one each for NSE and BSE so as to avoid mixing)then click next. data will be imported.

For BSE Indices Download I have put a server error check which will tell you the nature of error. You will have option to retry or cancel. In case of Retry, download for same indices will be attempted. Incase of cancel it will be cancelled and next indices will be downloaded. I hope this will give clear picture of why some are not able to download BSE indices.

Meanwhile I found that BSEFMC is changed to BSEFMCG. So need to patch database.

save the following line as sqlUpdate.sql and put in BIN folder. On retarting the programme Run Critical Updates under Oprion>>Database Admin will become enabled. Run this file .If that is the cause of problem then it will help.

UPDATE INDICES SET IndexSymbol = 'BSEFMCG' WHERE IndexSymbol='BSEFMC';
UPDATE LISTEDEQUITY_BSE  SET Symbol = 'BSEFMCG' WHERE Symbol='BSEFMC';

Again thanks to you for your quick response. Anyway i have success with download pr zip file from nse & to convert it by converter which is given by joy in this forum. Is it possible to download back date pr zip file from nse? Pl, help.

Tried downloading stuffs ,.. after downloading and converting for 2 days i could convert them to ms but the problem is why is it so that in all Futures i can see LOW AS THE CLOSE PRICE.

If you enclose one of the converted file, may be I can tell you. You have to check if it is in the order Metsastock expects the file
i.e. ticker,date ohlc,v or Ticker,date,OHLC with Header in <>

May be in NSEFNOHeader.txt file (in BIN folder)Close is indicated as "<last>" and "last" when converting from file. You can open that file change <last> to <close>

You are welcome. That is again a wonderful and light utility by joy.
PR.zip is not archived so you can't get back dated data. You might have to rely on other utility like DE Pro.

There were some issues with NSE Indices data download due to URl changes and also in NCDEX . While checking I found that they were not working. Similar issues have cropped up with other softwares as posted in forum. These have been taken care of and it will work.

Interface for download is slightly modified.

Those who have downloaded last patch can download latest patch .Place sqlUpdate.sql in BIN folder and Run Critical updates. It will patch database.
eoddownloadconvert.exe should be copied to Program folder.

I am open to suggestions and bugs reports till next friday.Please post it here with error.log file or screen shots or just copy last few lines of Error log where error appears. Database related errors are not an issue as Database is not supposed to allow any duplicates even though you can download same data again and again.

Hopefully this version will meet expectations.
Feature addition may not take place for some time.

It appears that due to evolving websites of Exchanges download URLS keep changing.As this software relies on publicly posted links on exchanges, often it may become necessary to monitor changes. Therefore Users may immediately report any function which is not working Corrections will be posted as critical updates to avoid disruptions. But surely support is subject to avilability of time and my knowledge.

I have downloaded the laterst vesion and installed it. I was alreadily using the older version succesfully. I have updated also from time to time.
This time i have freshly installed the latest version with no difficulty during installation. I have downloaded the data base file both from BSe and NSe also
of the last one year to work with new directory.

BUT AT THE TIME OF COLNVERSION IT SHOWED ERROR MESSAGE AS FOOLOWS

" NO DELIVARY DATA FILE FOUND DOWNLOAD FIRST DTATA FILE ELSE '0' WILL BE INSERTED FOR THE DELIVERY QTY........ ETC THEN IT TELLS TO DOWN LKOAD DELIVERY DATA FROM OPTIO9NS>>STOCK FUNCTIONS>> DELIVARY DATA FOR NSE '' but offcourse i did not fine it in the option. I have attached hgere erroor logfile also.

Hi Dr. Shukla

You can download delivery data files from the main screen itself.
Just select NSE and Delivery Data check boxes and the date range for which you have downloaded EOD data and then click download. It will download all data files.Else you can click on Options>>Download Missing Files>>Download Delivery Data for NSE. It should download all missing delivery files for which you have EOD files.

The message was to remind user to download. But it appears to be an irritant since user may not download files. So I have deleted this msg.

Without Delivery files you will get error msg for each file but of course data will be converted.

I have seen error log given by you and they are normal errors However I have made changes so that such errors are not occurring.

You can check use database and then rebuild files from DB. It will rebuild files with your last sequence.

New version will be out by today.

changing <last> to <close> in files worked for me. But unfortunately i have deleted all downloaded files ,.. now i will have to go and change manually the converted files in <last> to <close>

Now as far as converting is concern .. sir ,.. do i need to change

CLOSE,<last>,last,9
to
CLOSE,<close>,close,9

for future? or anything else ?
