I can surely help you. Download freeware GetBhavCopy (GBC) from www.getbhavcopy.com . It downloads the EOD bhavcopies from NSE as well as BSE. It will automatically convert the data into default data format for amibroker. Download the data for few days, say past 1 months with it.

Now follow these steps:
  1. Start Amibroker.
  2. File > New > Database
  3. In the text field there that related the database path, replace "MyNewData" by "nseeod". (nseeod is just for convenience, you can name it as you wish).
  4. Click the 'Create' button.
  5. Leave every other setting to its default and just click on "OK" button.
Now your database has been created. You must now import the data.

  1. File > Import ASCII
  2. Browse to the GetBhavCopy(GBC) folder where you have stored the bhavcopies downloaded by GBC, and select all the files. Click on 'open'.
Now you have completed importing the data and you can use amibroker to draw charts :D

Hi,

I have tried your steps and followed the steps given at:

http://www.getbhavcopy.com/importingtoamibroker.htm#317613398

I get an error after I show the ASCII file during import.

The error log shows:

Logging started for 'C:\getbhavcopy\NSE\2010-07-23-NSE-EQ.txt' file, using format definition file 'Formats\default.format'
Error in line 3IINFOTECH,20100723,66.8,67.25,65.5,65.7,1538984,747959
Invalid date format/value

Please help.

Regards,
Bency
