Real Time Quotes for Nifty Stocks directly from the NSE website along wit alert sound

Hi All,

I have made a small software which provides real time quotes directly from NSE website to your computer.

I wanted the real time quotes of Nifty 50 stocks during market hours and with minimum delay.

Yahoo provides stock quotes with delay of 15 mins and google provides with delay of 10 min.

Nse provides data at a delay of 1.5 minutes.

So now i am able to get the real time quotes with delay of around 2 min.

On top of this, i am very busy during market hours with my office work. So i wanted a system which can provide me dynamic alerts, like if Reliance price goes above 1900 during market hours, i get a message, so that i can look into the market at that time.

Considering all these requirements,
i have succefully achieved my system.

I am attaching the system in a zip file.

The system is able to take the real time quotes from NSE website and show them. Also, i can add alerts for my scrips. I can set two types of alert (high and low).

It means, if the price of any stock goes above or below a particular value, then i get a message in terms of alert sound and a text message displayed on screen.
(You can turn off sound alert if you want.)

This is really helpfull for me, because once i set the alert, i just need to keep speakers of my computers machine on. Whenever any alert occurs, i get a sound from my speakers.

Here are the steps you need to perform to use this system.

1. Download the zip file and extract at your preferred location.
2. Open the folder (LiveQuotesWithAlerts) and open start file in IE.
3. If you are using Win XP you may get popup blocker message like this


4. Click on the popup blocker and select Allow blocked content like this

Click yes on confirmation box.

5. Now select the scrips from left side and click Update Data button.
6. Thats it. system will automatically fetch the data from NSE. The time will also be shown.
7. If you set any alerts, you will get the alert sound from your speaker whenever the alert is triggered. Just keep your speakers on.
8. And reply with your comments about this.

Thanks for sharing the software which you have been using, a true sharing spirit. The layout looks neat and impressive. Will be of great help to small investors traders who do not have time and access to resources during market hours.

If you do not mind, a few suggestions for enhancing the utility. You may look into the possibility of incorporating.

1) A button which toggles between 'Select All' and 'Deselect All' will make life easy.

2) A hyperlink to the corresponding stock chart from nifty site will be highly useful.

3) Open and Last prices may ALSO be expressed in % terms compared to previous close in separate columns..

4) At what intervals are the data being checked? Is it possible to allow users to select the auto refresh interval?

5) Similar exercise may be possible for Junior nifty, Bankex and and IT index stocks. If users are allowed to choose from across all these sets, it will be a great boon. These sets may be placed in tabbed interface within the left panel.

6) Users may be allowed to select different sounds for UP & down moves and the corresponding symbol color changed to Green/Red.

7) Clicking on the Headers may sort the table on those columns. (Very useful for symbol, %Open and %LTP.

8) As you are sourcing the data from NSE site, it is delayed by about a minute or two. If you fetch the data from yah00 (after logging in) you may get live quotes.

Sorry that I made such a long feature requests, but I was so much fascinated by it's utility, I couldn't but make these enhancements. Of course, even without these, it is a highly useful contribution.

Data are checked every 5 sec. however they get refreshed only after 1 min. because nse data refreshes only 1 min.

Not possible. It will require lot of work. And will slow down the performance.

Yahoo provides quotes with a delay of 15 min. I first thought of using that. But after testing for 2-3 days, i found they are delayed by 15min. However only stock quotes are delayed. So for Index Quotes, i will be using Yahoo Quotes and design some new software.

No you didnt ask for much. I am infact greatful that you have given suggestions.

All the above funtionalities which i have marked in blue will be done after 2-3 weeks.

But for sure i will do that.

Hi Radha, Thanks for your positive response. While asking for a feature is very easy, providing the same may not be so.

Further to my earlier post, I would like to add,

3) In addition to Open & LTP as a % of Previous close, You may consider adding the %DP ( LTP expressed as a % of the gap between the day's high & Low.

%DP = 100 * (LTP - Low) / (High - Low)

5) If possible, Junior Nifty alone may be added into a second Tab. One may be able to select some stocks from Nifty and some other from Junior and add to the list. Addition of Bank Nifty & CNX IT may pose problems as the constituent stocks overlap with Nifty & Junior stocks.

1. option to select all and unselect them
2. When you click on the scrip name in left a corresponding chart will open

Thanks , its a good initiative... but I am not getting any update after selecting the scrip and clicking on update data,, how to show u snaphot of the same. I am new to traderji, help me so that I can show u the snapshot of the same
