Fib ratios would be easier to add in a offline app. Since mine is a web app I am not sure how I can add it, I will think about it.

BTW...I am currently working on:

Bollinger Bands
ADX/DMI
Weekly & Monthly Charts
Market Breadth Charts
Ratio / Comparision charts (to chart comparative relative strength or spreads)
ATR Based Traling Bands (for use in ATR based traling stops)
Small fixes / additions

Thanks. There is little bit of work left. I need to finish few more things (see my previous message). My website logo & banner is being designed, once that is ready I will start on designing my main website structure. Once that is done I will integrate the website.

I am also planning to provide a way to save user's settings, his chart lists, etc but will probably add it a little later to make sure I integrate and deploy an the website sooner.

Even if it takes a while to integrate and deploy the full website, the charts will be updated (I mean the stock/index prices) daily around 6PM.

Thanks.
Please let me know your exact requirements by email (skurdukar at gmail dot com) , I will think about it.

Hello SwingTrader,
I am trying to use mysql as the database and JSP for the charting portion. My project is still in the primitive stage as i have worked mainly on legacy systems which are a lot easier to program. This stuff is is tricky but once i get a start in the right direction i am sure i will manage . My first hurdle is figuring out how to draw the candle stick graph and the bar chart . I have been reading a lot of books just to get a clue on how to do this. I need to get the basic framework ready from where i can build on .
Thanks for taking time to respond.

As I said in one of my posts above, I am still working on weekly & monthly charts so at the moment only "Daily" period will work. I will post a message on this thread once weekly/monthly charts are up.

Thanks for using the charts.

Since it will be a technical discussion can you email me at skurdukar at gmail dot com? I will then reply to your email with some ideas to get you started.

Hi SwingTrader,

First of all, let me Congratulate you! (I am a late entry into this thread) It is great to know that someone doing real quality work is in touch with the actual community. I am sure we all would see agreat success of your site - http://www.icharts.in

I see that the user interface needs a lot of improvement, at the same time I could see the work done at the backend, and the approach followed for this development, which I really appreciate.

When you think you need some reviewers, not only for the user interface part, but from the design perspective as well (though I assume you would not deviate too much from design at this time) - I am willing to make my contribution as a reviewer.

One quick suggestion (again I don't assume you have no plans for that) is that - see if you can present the chart as a .gif rather than .bmp. Currently, the chart seems to be of 1.44mb size. As you know, most users in India have the internet access plans based on the "monthly transfer size" - may be you can reduce the image size by more than 50% (with almost no loss in quality) by saving it as a .gif - this reduces the cost-to-access incurred by the users and thus more friendly. Hope this makes some sense.

Just my two cents at this time. I hope to have more suggestions later.

Thanks again.

You can access it at http://www.icharts.in/getchart.php

Only NSE charts are displayed, the symbol format to use is same as on NSE's website. You can search for symbols using NSE's symbol search (I will add it a little later). The symbols for Indicies are NIFTY, CNX200, CNX500, JUNIOR.

This is still work in progress. I need to add/finetune indicators, fix the main display, indicator display etc etc. I can go on, I have a huge list of things to fix/add/change. But I would love to hear from anyone who has suggestions/ideas on how I can improve further.

Thanks.

Hi SwingTrader:

There is an interesting site that I use regularly. Its mainly for spot currencies and has many java applets and development tools and perhaps it may help you in developing your site.

www.netdania.com

Hope it helps

Thanks for your kind words. I am still working on the user interface stuff, it is not visible on the website yet.

The chart images displayed on my website are all PNG images, there are no BMP images. But it looks like Internet Explorer is prompting the user to save it as a BMP. Thanks for pointing this out to me. I will look into this as a priority and see what I can do about it. In the meantime if you wish to save the images as PNG try a different browser like Mozilla Firefox (the one I prefer). I am sure all other browsers will let you save it as a PNG image, I tried Firefox & Opera and they by default save it as a PNG file. I assure you that I am only displaying PNG images. Even my largest charts are around 60KB-70KB in size.

Thanks again.
