DownloadBhavCopy Utility in excel

Dear friends,

Please find an excel utility attached for downloading EOD data (BhavCopy), suitable for F-Chart and other chart applications, from NSE site.

Save file in a convinient location. It is handy to have a back up file also for future use. Upon opening the file pressing the "Download Bhavcopy/Stock data", the utility throws a form which is very userfriendly. Just play with it and learn the features.

Any comments about the file may please be posted here for the improvement.

The features about the utility file may be found in the Help Sheet of the file.

A. Version 1.0 dated 02-Aug-2008:-

B. Version 1.1 dated 10-Aug-2008:-

Additional Features in this version (V1.1)

• Destination folder remains in memory When the worksheet is saved.

• Folder browse button is added. However it works only on Excel 2003 and above. In below versions, you can change the folder in the text box.

• End date for downloading - box is put up and is adjusted based on start date and no. of days of eod data downloading.

• Quick Download - Today, 3-day and 7-day data downloading facility is added as a special feature for quick download.

C. Version 1.2 dated 17-Aug-2008:-

Additional Features in this version (V1.2)

• Dropdown facility with all the active stocks are made for stock specific Historic data downloading.

• Select the stock from the dropdown, arrange the start date and no. of days, downloading of stock data is required, press "Download Stock Data".

• Stock data will be downloaded from ***** site.

D. Version 1.3 dated 31-Aug-2008:-

Some more Features in this version (V1.3)

• Destination folder remains in memory if the worksheet is saved or on pressing "Save & Exit" buton.

• "Show Help sheet" button added on the form

• Stock Data can be downloaded from the NSE site. However it works slow due to complexity of downloading from NSE site.

• As an option, same Stock data can be downloaded from ***** site also.

• Stock Data can now be downloaded from BSE site also. Intraday quote also can be downloaded from BSE site.

E. Version 1.4 dated 09-Sep-2008:-

Friends the utility prepred to satisfy a simple need of bhavcopy has seen tremendous changes with the help of few nice members who were willing to share their experiences using this utility and I am thankful to them.

The utility is capable of downloading large chunk of data with a very less downloading time. Now we need not worry about loss of data, which can be downloaded at any time.

Intraday data downloaded from bse is realtime and is can be made to put in to FChart and other softwares.

The utility is highly portable and I always carry this in Flash Drive. As it is excel driven it has some advantages and few disadvantages also. I am always concerned about the corruption and hence given lot of test before releasing.

Effort has been made to make this a very stable utility, additional features always threaten this stability and hence I have put lot of efforts backtesting.

Further improvements if required and feasible will be incorporated upon receipt of good comments.

• Indices Historical data from ***** site can be downloaded. ***** at present provides historic data of 3 indices only.

• Indices Historic/Intraday data from BSE site can also be downloaded.

• Upon selecting Intraday options, non-relevent fields will be disabled.

• Intraday data downloaded can be linked to Fchart and other softwares.

• Indices details for reference if required can be downloaded from BSE site. Quick link is provided on the form.

Regarding historical data for stocks from NSE - I wanted to incorporate the same in the present version itself, but could not succeed. I am still trying for the same and hopeful to put up with next version (atleast from yhoo).
