What u see is NOT what u get: Lag in the real time quotes in ODIN

#1
Today I was about to place a trade by looking at the price on my ANGEL DIET Platform. But when I called up my broker his quotes was 7-8 rupees away from what I saw on my Angel DIET offered by Angel Broking.

1) Can some one think of the reason why this is happening?

2) Is this the case with any ODIN or just is it because of some other reason?

3) I have BSNL broadband speed is 900 kbps. Is this too slow for trading real time?

4) Is my brokers quote is different because of their VSAT connection?

5) What are my options here? How do you guys day trade if this is the case i.e. with lag in quotes and "what i see is NOT what i get"?

And you had your eye on the terminal all the time till you were placed to your broker? Today was a choppy day, seen some rapid fire action on Options front myself as well.

Anyway, wouldn't a Limit Order with an appropriate SL help you here?

Sure. But my point being this:

IN ODIN, What you see is really few minutes behind what the dealer sees on his VSAT terminal. Correct me if I am wrong.

Angel servers do have intermittent problems.

Can some one tell me which brokerage offers ODIN or some thing similar where "WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET" ?

And what is the best way to test it? Most people using ODIN wouldn't know that they are seeing what happened a few minutes before. Also, I am interested in knowing why is the terminal with the broker dealer displaying current quotes? Is it because of VSAT connection?

Hi trader111

Ya I know hold brothers. Are you a member of LLC? Did you put me 25K USD to trade? Can you tell me how much deposit you need? and how much exposure you get etc? And how is graybox? isn't that their platform which they developed in house? And last, how can you tell if you have a lag?
