What u see is NOT what u get: Lag in the real time quotes in ODIN

hi,
i use bsnl broadband with 100 mbps speed. got odin from geojit.And every time what i see on my screen is the same as what they tell over phone(they use v-sat). no time delay for me.

one suggestion
in a busy moment of a stock(when many scalpers r active with good volume of orders to n fro) pull up the best 5
then place a market order n see how much u r laggin?

Yes Graybox is their in-house developed s/w. For other details better contact their cc staff.

The best thing abt graybox is that it does not gives u a fill when quotes are lagging, if u hit market orders. If u place a bid and get a fill against what it shows, ofcourse u know it's lagging. It's not possible to trade spikes/news when there is lag. I suggest trading from ur broker's office.

Ya. I mean some times the stock doesn't move for a long time and just sits at one price. So if this is the case obviously there is no difference in price between what your broker geojit quotes and what you see. Try to see this in a fast moving stock. Pick up a very active (top 5 most actively traded or % gained or % lost etc.) and check to see if it is same. Chances are likely that it may be different than what your broker quotes. Hey I have a 4 Meg high speed internet as well. I am not sure if this thing has to do with the internet speed or some other variable.........

yeah i have seen execution platform performance does not depend on connection speed as long it is decent. I used to trade NSE directly from my sub-broker's office .

From where Sir? Is it a VSAT connection? BTW Geojit does not give ODIN. How did you get it?

hi sir,
i got odin from them for commodities. equities i trade mostly on phone only sir.i cant comment much about speed (real time quotes) in equities as i am not a day trader in equities watching real time quotes. hope now it is clear sir.
