Navin

Charting software is used to predict the move the prices of a stock or index using technical analysis. If you are in Bombay you can probably do a course in Technical analysis from BSE or alternatively you can buy books from a bookstore and use it to gain confidence. Books by Martin Pring is quite good.
But you do wait for the opinion of others also. I myself have not undergone a course through BSE so cannot vouch for the quality of the same. Also try the site investopedia.com. This is also a very good site where you can learn about T.A before making any substantial investments Bye

Hi Navin,

Welcome to Traderji.

Just my view:
Charting software is a tool to help you in interpreting the price and other indicators which are based on price. It offers an array of features like historical data save, scanning, backtester, portfolio management, watchlist, etc.

Message snippet from Amibroker.com:
AmiBroker is a comprehensive technical analysis program, allowing you to study and predict trends in the market and to maintain a portfolio of shares. It incorporates a powerful set of technical analysis tools, OLE Automation/ARexx interface with rich command set and several options for quotation data import. All these features are available from clean and user friendly interface.

For various link of threads related to Amibroker, you may have a look at this thread: http://www.traderji.com/amibroker/93...ions-more.html

Regards,
Praveen.

HI Navin,

Welcome to our world. Charts are a tool that is used to forecast the movements in the price of a security.

At Traderji.com you will find a lot of articles on TA. Saints's post are pretty good.

As for the software, there will be a quickstart guide. Try getting familiar with it using the guide. For any assistance in TA feel free to contact me at tennis.et.theD@**********.

Cheers

hi everybody,
to study t.a is nodoubt a tedious job.it takes months to gether to learn the the basic s perfectly .and the training institute complete the coures in 6to 8 hours. i do not understand how one can learn this vast subject in 8 hours
i would therefore like to know that is there any utiliy or s/w available which can guide anybody not knowing t.a to ascertain the trend of market?
the s/w may use internally all the indicators but give the end result which can be read and understood easily by non t.a. person.

please guide me if there is such tailormade s/w or utility is available alongwith the price . the s/w should be userfriendly and does not involve more calculations at users end . ofcouse it must have an inbult capacity to get the clear idications regarding trend ,buy/sell signal etc.
thanks
