Linux and Trading

#1
Hi friends,

I'm a linux user and i'm learning to trade. The problem here is that there is no good metastock equivalent for linux. few softwares which are available for linux are:

1. Merchant of Venice ( http://mov.sourceforge.net/ ).
2. Open Java Trading Platform ( http://ojts.sourceforge.net/ ).
3. iTrade ( http://itrade.sourceforge.net/ ).
4. AIOTrade ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/humaitrader ).
5. qtstalker ( http://linux.softpedia.com/get/Office/Finance/Qtstalker-2171.shtml )
6. MAS ( http://eiffel-mas.sourceforge.net/ )
and many..

Has anyone used them and can comment on their usability in comparison to metastock.

I tried to install metastock using wine, but it first tries to install dotnet and dotnet installation terminates giving some error. If anybody has installed metastock using wine, please help me out. I'm using arch linux.

After using qtstalker for a few days, I finally settled down with a combination of wine+amibroker. Although linux has made huge progress and is equal to or better than windows in many terms, it still lacks a good TA software that matches the quality of metastock, etc., on windows. And the rate of development suggests it will take quite some time to get to that level.
