Local disk full , No space issue

I forgot: Check "Recovery" in your system and check how much space is used for that.

- Control Panel
- Recovery
- Configure system restore
- Small windows opens and here you choose: Configure
- Press on it and here you will see how much "Disk Space usage" this tool is using on your system. You can reduce that by telling the "Max Usage" how many % of the available space are allowed to use from that tool. Do not make it zero, as if you have a problem, the probably last clean installation on which the computers recovers will most likely be gone.

You also can download this tool: http://windirstat.info

Run it and you will see how much space is used for what.

disk cleanup , cccleaner these things helped me to clean only 1 gb. Still 96.5 GB FILL .

not sure but afraid may be hidden virus...
Use Scandisk to get the health of the C Drive - may be u have some big bad sectors there -

and also use any partition master - to get some free space from D drive

Also another option - WinDirStat is a crowd favorite for scanning a drive and finding out what you can get rid of to get a little extra leg room in a hurry. rgds

There are no system restore points so no disk space spent on that.

Then download and run once the tool given above. Takes a few minutes and then you will see some thing like that http://i59.tinypic.com/2r4spp4.png This shows quit clear which space is used for what in your system.

Again: This will not solve the problem, but it gives information about how much MB/GB which program's or data folder is using on your OS. After that you can try to delete unnecessary part through that tool by putting the cursor on it http://i60.tinypic.com/4kidjo.png , press the right side of the mouse, a small windows open and here you can choose what you want to do with that section. Before you delete any part, be sure what you do as other wise your system could fail to work again.

If Windows & Program Files Folders are taking 97 GB, something seriously wrong.

Instal TreeSize Free and check each Folders thoroughly. You will know junk files there. Then Q, how to remove them.
Tried Treesize free,

shockingly it shows winshell as 81.5 GB. I clicked on it to expand, it showed wincon.dll as 81.5 GB

so what to do now?

Non-system processes like wincon.dll originate from software you installed on your system. Since most applications store data in your system's registry, it is likely that over time your registry suffers fragmentation and accumulates invalid entries which can affect your PC's performance

So did you ever use the registry cleaner in CCleaner? or this one: http://www.wisecleaner.com/ or this one: http://www.auslogics.com/en/checkforupdate/?product=registry-cleaner&version=3.2.1.0
