Windows 7

Seeking views on Windows 7. Please share your experience : good bad or ugly!!

New hardwares are all loaded with this OS, hence wish to have views beofre upgrading.

My exp with Windows 7 is very good, Today only I faced one issue with my pen drive, when I inserted it in the laptop it asked for scan but I stopped the scan and tried to open the Pen drive it said "Access denied" then I again reinserted and let the scan to complete , after that I was able to access my Pen drive,

Even I knew this problem is due to Virus in my drive.

Graphics of Window 7 are very good.

It works OK even with 1 GB or 512 Mb RAM, for more speed you can increase the RAM.

I did not face window crash problem even after my Laptop got turned OFF suddenly due to power problem ( my laptop battery back is very less)

I welcome views from other members.

windows 7 is the best operating system available on the planet.

I have used Linux for years and have developed applications on Mac.

My first PC came pre-installed with Vista and I downgraded it to XP.

But Windows 7 wins hands down ...

I had unwillingly upgraded to XP about 2 years ago (from win 98) because the newer softwares didn't support '98. The moment I tried Win7, I became it's fan. It is not heavy on the resources and can run the older software using the "Compatibility" feature available for all the executable files. Haven't seen any major minus points yet.

No probs. for the past 1 yr.

The worst thing in windows 7 & vista is you can't run pirated softwares + mostly freeware softwares in them.
That's why i'm using xp.
But if you like looks of windows 7 then there is an alternative way for you.

I'm currently using this theme on my xp window.
Believe me its great.It looks same as the windows 7 .Even mouse cursor is same as windows 7.
Its like eliminating all disadvantages of windows 7.

Windows 7's performance based on the physical RAM. Please,go for minimum 4 GB RAM..later stage if you are running many applications and always connected to internet, Windows 7 will eat your memory..Check out your task manager once you boot,you will find out how many processes are running. Try to keep that count as very less.

Windows XP is the best from Microsoft.

Windows 7 is having issues with the web cams,hope you enable the video calling mode in skype. that might be one of the reasons.
