Windows 7 & ODin problem.

Vikas & Kumar
My vista laptop is wireless and windows 7 desktop is connected via RJ45. both talk to a modem ADSL2+ (440TXI) beetel.. to Airtel broadband connection..
When I try to connect via desktop with Win7 i get "connection busy error (check connection integrity)" but not in Vista.. (That is during market hours) so no question of server downtime etc.,

>>> connection busy error (check connection integrity)

Are you behind firewall/proxy/ISA ? Odin does not work behind proxy.
No proxy.. firewall yes.. but i did modify the windows firewall to allow to include diet odin exe (after seein your post and before writing this) but same error.
tnx in advance

Vikas and Kumar ,

Here are my observations on the issue .

1) its not Nroker specific .as both religare and Rkglobal users are suffering

2) Vikas , you have no issues as you are using a wireless LAN . and Kumar is using a Broadband .

Kumar , Do you Dial out a Connection ( PPP0E ) to get connected to the Braodband ? If yes , this should be the culprit .

I read in some other forum that , the user didnot have any problem while using ODIN on a normal LAN . ( No dialing out )

But he has issues when he is on dialup . I use a BSNL broadband connection with RJ45 connecting to my Modem .But I have to dial out a PPPoE connecting to get the internet .

I assume the remote access services in Windows 7 is the Culprit .

I am yet to try ODIN on a direct LAN or wireless connection

Regards
Naresh

This is the biggest problem we without realizing who is at fault started to hate Windows :D
Problem is "driver" which is not shipped my Microsoft... you should hate your router/modem which has not paid attention to Microsoft's prerequisites and guidelines before writing their driver.

I am working with Naresh to find a solution, he already has support case with MS and I will look at that case today. Till then, you gotta try with another router to see if that fix it.

I am not yet hating 7. but indeed impressed with the performance. The brokers are trying to do all that is possible. Until such time, I am using my old vista notebook to access odin. But i am sure the resolve soon and clearly visible. Vikas and Naresh and Kumar. Thanks in advance.

I am not sure if our brokerage houses are compatible enough to provide a pATCh to windows . This looks like some thing wrong in the Windows RTM version with remote access connections . (I even read some where that it worked fine in windows Beta :( ) .

Vikas ,

For BSNL broadband connection, i dont think any modem router driver will come in to Picture .The only things come in are PPPoE connection ( provided by MS ) and network adapter drivers .( Provided by MS and Laso the provider , in my case Dell ) . May be in Kumars case he need drviers as hes trying a USB modem.
