Windows 7 & ODin problem.

Sweet as I was expecting... it seem to be interfering with the USB drivers for the Router.
Can you try and connect with the RJ45 cable instead of USB, I am sure this router has both interface.. isn't it ?

oh.. it could be a bug in Win7 as well and I am investigating that, in the meantime you try the RJ45 cable. If you can favor me, use your MSDN subscription to open a support incident with MS and let me know the case number?
Actually my modem has only USB option.I have couple of questions for you.

No 1: I use the same modem to connect internet on vista and there in vista diet works perfect. So how can a cable cause problem???if there is problem in cable mean it should not work on both OS i feel.

No 2: You and i have same OS and same version. The diet working for you and not working for me.So how can it be a bug on windows??Because i hope all windows ultimate version has the same copy of files.

The only thing is you and myself differ is you were using RK global broking and myself using religare. So i feel the problem lies here only.Myself and couple of friends in our broking housing have same problem.

Now lets think the way a software engineer would :)

1) When you connect via RJ45 cable, you plug in a Internet cable to your Ethernet card which usually uses generic windows network card driver unless you have other drivers installed. When you use USB cable, its not a default interface and your model install some driver to emulate a network card.. and most likely the drivers are NOT compatible with Win7. Its NOT a problem with cable but interface being used.

2) Yes we both have same OS and same version of ODIN, so no problem in that. The difference in your and my connection are I am using WIFI (wireless) router to connect to my lan and you are using a modem based connection. My connection uses default drivers which does not cause any problems.

Broker is not the culprit here, culprit here is either OS or the drivers for your BSNL router... take my advice and try to connect with any other router.. see if you can borrow one from your friend.

Ok..Right now religare server is down tomorrow let me try with RJ45 cable. If you have USB Modem you can also give a try.

One more thing is there is an optional update available for ZyXEL ADSL USB Modem in windows 7.can i try updating that also ???

no idea about this update and I do not have a USB modem to try with... check their website to see if they have any latest drivers
Ok..let me try to update these and check by tomorrow. If these driver causing the problem for using ODIN i am really wired with windows behavior.Because i can able to connect internet but 1 application cannot access the net due to driver conflict it's really wired..:)

Its not a standard application but an application that uses Streaming Quotes.. which usually works over multicast UDP protocol... well I could explain in detail why it can fail but that will be tooo technical :)
No problem please share with me... Email Id sent for a chat..

Windows 7 has different features in broadband connection status with vista can these cause the problem???

Windows 7

Windows Vista

By default it uses these.

When i try to enable it has these features(by default these feature got disabled in windows vista whereas windows 7 has only these feature)

And in windows 7 there is no qos packet scheduler whereas in windows vista it has.

So absence of these features in windows 7 can cause these problem???

Vikas and Kumar ,

Here are my observations on the issue .

1) its not Nroker specific .as both religare and Rkglobal users are suffering

2) Vikas , you have no issues as you are using a wireless LAN . and Kumar is using a Broadband .

Kumar , Do you Dial out a Connection ( PPP0E ) to get connected to the Braodband ? If yes , this should be the culprit .

I read in some other forum that , the user didnot have any problem while using ODIN on a normal LAN . ( No dialing out )

But he has issues when he is on dialup . I use a BSNL broadband connection with RJ45 connecting to my Modem .But I have to dial out a PPPoE connecting to get the internet .

I assume the remote access services in Windows 7 is the Culprit .

I am yet to try ODIN on a direct LAN or wireless connection

Naresh
