I am an engineer and I am just a layman as far as investments are considered.
Recently I have come across some words and phrases whose meanings I dont even understand, and never ever heard before.
Which subject/branch of studies will help me to understand the following words/phrases:
1. How do you propose to limit the losses to 0.1%? Will it be through the purchase of put or call options so that the losses can be no more than 0.1%
2. Portfolio management
3. Risk management
4. Size the investments according to risk and the portfolio value
5. How are you going to minimize taxes Are you going to collar investments in order to re-categorize investments from at risk to risk free in order to enter a new position without exceeding predefined acceptable limits of risk
6. Will your strategies be risk arbitration? Bond convergence? Pairs trading? Are you a Delta Neutral investor or are you just thinking the prices will just go up? What will you do when the prices go down
Can you please tell me some books /online resources where these things are explained in good depth?
