Instead of all that crap slowing down my computer what I Use is this: http://www.returnilvirtualsystem.com/

This is free for personal use. What this software does is that while it is running, all changes made to your system partition will be in virtual space only. So all you have to do is reboot to get your system back as it was if ever you have a problem with virus or spyware etc.
So what do you do if you need to install / download a new software ?

you have a choice to turn the protection feature on or off. You will need to turn it off, reboot, install whatever you want to and then turn the protection on again.

Normally the virus don't show up immediately or do they with this software.

So if they don,t are we back to the restore/ or format, reload grind.

What this software does is different from normal anti-virus programs. With a normal anti virus program, you would be protected against KNOWN threats. RVS does not protect you against virus or spyware. What it does is this: with the protection feature ON, anything you install knowingly or unknowingly on your computer is temporary only, till you reboot. So even if you happen to get virus or spyware or malware, all you have to do is a simple reboot to get rid of it.

well, what if you want to save some downloaded files.
does it has any option of only c partition virualization or it is for full harddisk.?
it requires at about 25mb disk space ..that is..too much.
how will you protect your pc from intrusions.?

regards
suba

problem is that some people try to make things too simplistic without proper understanding. and vendors give the impression - buy, and you will not die.

there are hundreds of loopholes. well take one (sigh!)

you surf -> keylogger installed, a breeze since your system is naked -> you trade online -> transfer funds from bank -> id/pwd go out.

then you reboot. keylogger uninstalled. you bolt the stable too late Sir.

Good point, sir. I never said that this is the only protection I use. I have this working in conjuction with ZoneAlarm which guards against programs like keyloggers or trojans that may attmept to connect from my pc to an outside address. ZoneAlarm can be configured to ask your permission any time a program wants to connect to the internet, as well as block any intrusion attempts. A good firewall is a must for any serious trader. BTW both ZA and RVS are free for personal use. You don't have to buy them.

Suba and Digest, RVS protects only your system partition, so you can use another partition to save data or files. Or you can create a virtual partition, there is an option to do that when you install RVS.

Deepfreze does the same thing ..You can secure u'r drives ..Keep data partitions different and secure u'r system drive ..
Install antivirus for cleaning data partitions ..System partition won't get affected if u secure it with deep freeze..
