Brokerage charges for exersise an option

Can anybody tell brokerage charges on excersie an option on expiry date. My broker is charging too much, I had Tatasteel option of 520PE of 28Aug14 and it was closed @ 513.85 on expiry date. I got the profit of 13700 Rs. but for the same amount they charged the brokerage of 1700Rs(include sertax, STT). Please clarify.

u can not excercise options now a days... the excess charged is due to stt. if u dont cover ur traded leg then the stt is charged on complete future lot price. be aware from next time...

I think you might be having 3 lots.
Per lot STT charged after expiry is
lot sizeXstock priceX0.001

so for tatasteel approx = 520*1000*0.001 = 520 + tax
So better don't wait till expiry.
