Curious to know which one is better Long strangle or long straddle?

I have been following Long strangle and I was able to make profit because I enter the trade only when I expect certain volatility.
So fine. You answered your question by your self. :thumb: One of the core points in option strategy trading is vega, means there is no best or worst. As traders we have our knowledge as weapons to fight the current market conditions and at the moment we know when to implement our strategies in the market, at that moment we have choose d the best strategy for that situation. Hope you got the point.

It is the markets behavior which tells us if for that situation this strategy is best and for this situation that strategy is best. :)

Ravi ji, Your one of them? btw were my definitions and usage right? I just use options to hedge my clients positions on result days. A small premiums to act as an insurance against really heavy movements. Clients don't like sudden movements. o_O Stupid sheep.
Are you looking for new clients or what do you want to tell us? Why do you mention: MY CLIENTS?

To explain what you do, you do not need to write the way you just did. Would appreciate if you in the future not mention your clients as other wise I will report you.

Take care. DanPickUp

Yet again this strategy (Long Strangle) paid off. This time with a returns of around 400%.

Bought Infosys CE 3200 at 35 & Infosys PE 2700 at 58. Total investment was around Rs.11000.

Today due to Infosys poor results stock crashed 20%. Worst crash ever for Infosys in a decade.

Sold Infosys CE 3200 at Rs.1.20 & Infosys PE 2700 at Rs. 398.

Total value is now around Rs.50,000.

Nicely done. Vega was the key to success in that situation (Used the word theta in the other post even I meant vega. Even I confuse some times the right words as you did first with strangle and straddle.)

Well done with a peace of luck :thumb:
