I am a new member here. But, in the last few days I have learnt a lot about options thanks to Traderji, AW10 and others.
I am a reasonably happy man leading a happy life. I entered the options market 2 years ago after doing a course with ICICI. I have had some mouthwatering profits on some deals, but overall, I am in the negative. That is OK, because I consider it as the "mandatory" gurudakshina to the market.
I hope to improve myself from this site, and other resources. I have given myself 10 years (ie 8 more years from now) to be a good options maestro. My ambitions are not high. I do not want to be the greatest option trader, or even a great option trader. Good is enuf for me. This is because, I believe that "the knowledge of trading options is more important than money made by trading options"
If after 8 more years, I make a decent, almost passive income from options (I plan to have about 2 trades a month as I am a positional player), I can teach this knowledge to others, especially my children.
As the old will play the pipe, the young will surely sing. If I am an adequate options player (need not be great), by osmosis, I hope my children will learn. I can tutor them, and get them to my level with just 3-4 years of tutelage (not even on a continuous basis). This would help then get some extra income from Day 1 of their future careers.
They will grow up, have careers of their own. They will have their own challenges and frustrations. But this knowledge, I hope, would provide them a bit of an edge in a turbulent world.
