Trading equity options BSE vs NSE

Hello,

ICICI Bank BSE: 532174 | NSE: ICICIBANK | ISIN: INE090A01013

Why does each comapny has two listings. Which exchange is better if I am buying this stock.

Also, if I want to purchase options on ICICI bank, is there a difference in purchasing BSE vs NSE. Which one should I use with respect to liquidity and volume.
