Trading Nifty

#1
I'm a Nifty Options trader, I will share my views on nifty.
I also follow most active stocks and would be glad to help you analyze your positions.

A few rules for first time players:

1) Understand Options, paper trade before you buy/sell
2) Play with money you wouldn't mind loosing
3) Plan your entry and exit and STICK to it
4) Mr. Hope & Mr. Greed are your worst enemies - Trade Emotionless

I also look forward to and invite other option traders to participate and post views.

Remember, if the profits are yours... so are the losses.
Cheers!

Its likely that markets are pricing in a fall due to the budget.

And even if we rally, pricing above 5310 is difficult as the market mantra for now is sell on rallies... So watch out for 5040 and 4715 pivot points in deciding market direction.

Cheers.

Hello Fellow Traders,

I'd like to use Nifty Call Spread strategy i.e., buy a call option (At-the-money) for certain premium and at the same time write a call option at a higher strike price. I wanna use this strategy when I'm bullish on Nifty. Though my profits will be limited, my loss will be significantly reduced.

Coming to the point, I'm not clear about margin requirement.

Normally, for buying a Call option u pay only premium; whereas if u r writing a call option, u need to pay SPAN margin (which is almost 2-4 times the premium).

So, my query is if I go for Call Spread strategy, do I have to pay SPAN margin?

Moreover, my broker Sharekhan doesnot allow me Options writing.

Kindly, list Top 10 reputed brokers for options writing (with very low margin requirement and brokerage)

You need either 3lacs in cash or stocks to be able to write options with most if not all.

The amount they hold is based on the kind of options you write, mostly your risk profile.

Cheers!
