I just read this thread and Got confused As to how some1 can sell a 5000 call today for 370 :O lol. Now noticed that rahul somehow managed to reopen this old thread to ask a question which has no relation what so ever to this topic...

Anyways i found 2 things in his strategy.

When he says he --

Sell Nifty Call of strick 5000 with premium 350-370
Sell Nifty Put of strick 6000 with premium 750-820
I can almost bet that at this time nifty 5000 Put and Nifty 6000 Put give out a total premium of 150 points. and selling a simple 5000 put and 6000 call is the same as this strategy. Its only that the Above strategy looks more complex and thus attractive and makes us feel its something diff and somehow profitable.

Also the Max net Profit calculated by that guy is wrong, its not 180*50 but 150*50. which agn tells us about the miscalculations that can occur if you make your strategies soo complex.

To answer rahul's question, I think any number of lots can be traded in 1 trade, but it wont make any difference to your brok costs n ect if you trade 10 lots in 1 trade or 10 trades..

cheers

How many no of maximum lots of nifty option can be tarded in a single trade

Quantity freeze
Orders which may come to the exchange as quantity freeze shall be such that have a quantity of more than 15000. In respect of orders which have come under quantity freeze, members would be required to confirm to the Exchange that there is no inadvertent error in the order entry and that the order is genuine. On such confirmation, the Exchange may approve such order. However, in exceptional cases, the Exchange may, at its discretion, not allow the orders that have come under quantity freeze for execution for any reason whatsoever including non-availability of turnover / exposure limit. In all other cases, quantity freeze orders shall be cancelled by the Exchange.
