Dear Freind,

Target is 40% -50% or above your buy price. We must protect our money first therefore I came with SL first. For all my calls as said earlier target 40-50% by default unless stated.

Regards
Amit.

Dear Ghosh Sir,

Sir, i need you expert advice on this....
Sir, one of my friends told me that ..if we take a live example..you give a call for ex.. chambal fertilizers at 100 @ 6 Rs. Call....then i can also sell just above call for ex... CF 105 or 110 @ 3 Rs. call....he said...this way i can limit the loss...rather than for the call to 0....that happened in chambal fertilizers.
Sir, is it so...by this way , can we reduce our losses.
But sir, how to decide ...that when should we sell the call....when the call is goint down....or when 2 weeks have passed and we think that the call would not move much...or would not meet the target.

Sir, i am totally confused, and i need your advice on this....kindly take a recent call that you gave for example....rpl or any one you like...

Awaiting your quickest response,

Thanks & Regards,
optionstrader

Dear Optionstrader,

What you are talking about is writting a call when one expects the stock to go down. I personally do not like writting a call because it eats money as margin. I think, if you are having loss then, you exit that and look for some other one. Maintain strick stop loss. I will never reco. writting a call because of above reason.

Writing a call and buying a call is done to hedge your postions. But below I will just talk about when I will write a call.
In my view, normally call is written when underlying volume is decreasing, underlying is not showing any significant movement up near your strike price and expiry is approaching i.e. after middle of the month. Example you took Chambal Fert. at 100 strike price @6 and the underlying is at 90. But all of a sudden volume goes down from 1000k to 700k for e.g. and Chamble Fert underlying remains around 90 or below 100 near middle of the month, underlying is trading below 50 days moving average or approaching it then one can think to write a call. but its always risky. Hope above helps.

Dear Nagendra,

NALCO doesn't look so bad, its currently going through small profit booking. Keep a tight stop loss and if underlying goes below 475 then exit. However, it has got support at 450. But do not wait till this.
