Do i need market makers(movers) to fill Sept call option order, in July?

Hi,
I am newbie to options trading.
I wanted to purchase Sept 2007 call options for ex Ranbaxy. I got quote from icicidirect website. but it says prev day close and highest premium price. It doesn't mention about real time Sept option quote.
i placed my limit order well above yesterday's close of premium value. it expired without execution.
Q. Where can I get real time quotes for sept call options (this is july 2007)?
Q. If there are not any market makers for my long call option order, means my limit order will never be filled?
Q. Or there needs someone to short call option then only I can long call option?
Q. Or people have not yet started trading sept options?

Q1- http://www.nse-india.com/marketinfo/fo/fomwatchsymbol.jsp?key=RANBAXY

2) ur order wont be filles till there is a seller. u can view the order book(ie bid and ask) and then buy if its feasible to u.
3) ryt
4) Stocks like Ranbaxy have low liquidity on the options front. Try trading highly liquid counters or index options.

thanks

As I understand it in India the options are an ORDER DRIVEN market with no intermediaries like option market makers. Honestly until you are allowed to short stocks and market makers are given the option of leverage- you will not see too much liquidity.

By default market makers are required to offer the forward 3 months of an asset assigned to them and should have a bid and ask which is considered responsive.

All this will take maturity, a lot of education and better understanding of how this important tool can help protect your holdings.

Stick to liquid options- no point in chasing illiquid series with no way to get out.
