1) Selling A Call or Put Attracts The Same Margin, As If You Bought A Future Of The Respective Stock....Same Applies To Index Options
2) Margin Applicable Is On A Daily Basis As Mark To Market (MTM)
3) You Can Only Pledge Those Securities Which Are Allowed By Your Broker...Usually All Of 'A' Group & Many More From other Groups
4) Usually They Would Allow 85% Of The Closing Value For The Pledged Shares.
