Hi Bhavin,

Diff brokers have different ways of charging brk.

for example ICICI charges brk+Service tax+STT, thats all.

But many charge SEBi tax+turnover charges etc. In ur contract nore u will find it all. Just put it in Excel sheet. Its very simple.

Thanks

Looks like ICICIdirect charges fixed brokerage as per theire customer service. Anyone trading in ICICIdirect saw any more charges levied?

Hello I am also very much confused about calculating the brokerage.

According to me my broker calculate as following.

if i am taking the call of nifty 5500 and its rate is 90 then brokerage will be charged like this

5500+90=5590*.03%=1.677*50=83.85 + other taxes

I think brokerage will be 83.85 + other taxes

correct me if I am wrong

Cool Re: How is brokerage on options calculated?

Hi Prafull

Actually right now I am with Indiabulls and whenever I take any call they take the full money.
Like if take the example of your call 5700 Which is at Rs.300 and total charges is Rs.300*50=15000/-
My broker will take 15000 full amount from my account.

But in case of short I am not very much sure about this I think in short side also broker will take the same money.

I think M to M is only applies in Future stock and in Options I think broker don't take margins they take full money of the call/put

but I am also not sure any senior can comment on this

dear Freind,
When we sell a option or future we has to pay full SPAN margin . Because we have infine liability to bear loss.

Dear friend

Kotak's Option brokerage is = 2.5%(premeium * lot size) + Service Tax of 12.36% + STT for sell Leg

Minimum brokerage (buy/sell) = Rs.100

Hope it is useful for you.
