Pl.see the link.

https://www.nseindia.com/live_marke...TIDX&strike=7750.00&type=CE&expiry=30JUN2016#.

on 17.06. 2016, 7750 CALL contract traded one number only. But,the OI is not changing. How is it possible? Any body explain it?

Note:Click Historical data, and click Get data.
Might be like this

An existing "Sell" position holder decided to close his position and bought one lot back from a new seller. So contract traded is one with no change in OI.

Tks for your reply. Also try to find the answer for first question.

He says 6981 lots traded in one hour. suppose, If both new seller sells 6981 lots and new buyer buys 6981 lots then the OI is 6981*2= 13962*75= 1047150. or viceversa.OK?

Now,The OI is changed from 1961700 - 515250 = 1446450. Howis it possible?

1446450- 1047150= 399300. @ 4Lakhs OI is not in account? How?

First of all, assuming there is new seller of 6981 lots and corresponding to them there are new buyers of 6981 lots..then OI change will be 6981 lots and not 6981*2

During trading there are mixed cases like new seller opening new position but also there would be existing position holders closing their positions. So after any given time frame the Net OI outstanding will be calculated after all these things are taken into account. It's not just a one-to-one relationship with qty traded.
