Mutual fund Withdrawal

#1
Dear Sir,

I was investing in Mutual funds SIP from around 2008, but thn later in 2012 i stoped...Still i have not withdrawn the money.

What is the procedure for withdrawal?

I have the folio nos. of all the MFs.

What would your advice be? Better to withdraw or hold?

Thanks & Regards,
Mahadish

There is a Redumption slip at the bottom of your holding statement. If you dont have redumption slip, then get a spare redumption slip from the fund house and fill the same and deposit it in the fund house/investor relation centre near you. You will get the redumption proceeds in 3 days either by cheque of by credit in your bank account.

How to check about the lockin period for the MF, so that i can withdraw if its open for withdrawal?
Assuming it is a equity mutual fund, only Tax Saving Mutual Funds have 3 years lock in .

ok thanks..
They were tax saving funds...
What would be ur opinion about withdrawing?
Better to withdraw or hold?
Also, is it possible to sell any amount of units that one hold?
For eg. If i have 1000 units of SBI MF....than can i withdraw only 500 n keep 500?

I am bullish on the market for next 2-3 years. But the market will have corrections in this period as markets never go up straight .I would suggest booking some profit after the election results. If you want to play safe , book 50 % before election results and 50 % after the results....so if after the results market falls or rises you will be better off on atleast 50 %.

You can redeem part of your holding also. In redumption slip there is a coloumn asking how many units to redeem or all units to redeem.
