Hi Thakur...
even i started buying mutual funds from sharekhan very recently. So i can answer some of ur quires but not all.

when ur buying via SIP its better go buy online insted of going via broker(because u could verify and modify ur portfolio easily and also u need not to save hard copy of statements which u will be getting every month).

U could increase or decrease the amount monthly and also u could stop buying for sometime also. Its safe to buy online.

Hi Thakur..
Regarding the mutual fund statement:
Just within one minute u could get the statement by mail at any time.
At the year end u can take the printout of the same and submit it to ur finance for getting exemption.

Default Changing MF Online Agent

Dear friend:

I buy Mutual Funds online on KotakSecurities very aggressively. I have had numerous problems with KotakSecurities (I have written a separate post on the problems: http://www.traderji.com/brokers-dema...ies-avoid.html) and I want to close down everything I have to do with Kotak.

While it is pretty easy to move all my stocks from Kotak DP A/c to another DP account, can I do the same for my Mutual Fund holdings - i.e. can I move all my MF holdings from online KotakSecurities agent to some other online agent? I have asked many people about this but they all said: "it is easy to transfer offline MF units to Online units (between agents); but transferring the MF holdings from one Online broker to another is not possible (rather very tough).

Can anyone throw light on what it takes to transfer MF holding from one ONLINE Agent to ANOTHER ONLINE agent?

One very obvious option I have is to sell the units and reinvest - which I'm very reluctant to do because I have to pay the entry load again!

best regards and thanks in advance
- Anand Nagarajan

I know - Kotak will not give away the NOC at all, because they'd loose the income from my investments. But isn't this against consumer interests?

Why are SEBI / AMFI silent on this? Can anyone please let me know how to escalate this issue to AMFI & SEBI?

Or is there any other way out of this? Why should I hold my investments with someone I do not trust anymore?

best regards
- Anand
