As per my knowledge you can buy Mutual funds online

1. TimesofMoney
http://www.timesofmoney.com/mf/jsp/h...nds&uiId=TomMf

Just sign up, give your bank details, submit a signed POA(Power Of Attorney).
and when it is activated, you can buy or sell online.

2. easymf.com ( Moneycontrol site)
Currently you can buy mutual funds only from ICICI Prudential AMC.
It also requires you to sign up and submit POA. I believe they will also come up with facility for other mutual funds.

Apart from these, if you have ICICIDirect account or HDFC account or Citi bank account, you can buy funds online.
Hope this information helps.

If you are opening an ICICIDIRECT account see to it that its a joint account with your spouse ( with either or survivor being able to operate the same)
This is as the DMAT account ( for shares only) has a nominee while your mutual funds will not have a nominee by default. ICICIDIRECT currently does not have a facility where you can have a nominee for all mutual funds purchased through the account

I am not aware regarding the same for HDFC etc

I prefer the 25th as markets tend to consolidate ( near F&O expiry)

Hi Deepakji
That fund is not available with ICICIDirect. I have asked ICICI direct regarding and I have got the following reply. Hope that helps

" As you know, it is always our endeavour to add to our range of products, improve the quality of our service and enhance customer convenience.

As verified, the fund is not tradable through our website. The mutual funds are listed and delisted depending on the volatility of the market. Further, since the funds are not meeting certain requirement, they are not mapped or made available in our system.

Any fund is enabled or disabled after taking into consideration various factors like the price and volume of trade. The inclusion or deletion of stock from the stock list depends upon the Risk Management committee. Our Risk Management Group determines the fund that can be allowed for trading on ICICI Direct after carefully studying the fund and its trading patterns. Every now and then we revise the list of schemes to see if more number of funds can be accommodated. "

Default Mutual Funds - Buy/Sell Online

I would like to know the best Online portal for buying and selling of Mutual funds.
Some of the previous threads pointed out to timesofmoney.com. Reviews on the net did not give a postive note on this.

I would also like to know if indiainfoline.com is good. Anybody using this ?
Basically i am looking for free service (like HDFC has initial payment of Rs 100/-).

Also I would want to get the same day NAV.

And for some others (like ICICI) you need to have a trading account to which this facility is linked.

Could anybody suggest a good service which lets you operate at no extra charge and guarantees same day NAV.
