Hi ramid,

Your answers are as follows:

1)No, Demat account is not necessary for investing in MF. But its a easy and hassle free tool.

2)Investment through SIP can be done at anytime.

Regards
nitin

Welcome to the forum my frnd. No u dont need a Demat a/c for MF investments. Ul get a statement in which ur Dr and Cr of units will be mentioned. Investemnt in SIp can b done any time in the yr while using SIP provided the entry is open at that time.

Best Wishes
Swagat

if you have a savings account with HDFC with the netbanking service, you can purchase mutual funds. To activate purchasing mutual funds using netbanking you have to visit their branch and fill up a form
Note: HDFC offers less number of mutual funds compared to ICICIDIReCT

Thumbs up Re: How To Buy Mutual Funds Online

Just for your information - now HDFC provides about 7 AMCs for the online Mutual fund trading within the netbanking account. It keeps on increasing - I hope it will cover almost all the AMCs in the near future.

Pros : Fast and quick, NFO for selected AMCs
Cons : No SIP/SWP
