Post Buying Mutual Funds from abroad

Hi,

I am new to investments and I want start with some mutual funds. I am residing in Singapore. Can somebody kindly help me on the following

1. How can I buy funds online? Which online broker suites me best? (ICICI direct or Indiabulls or ... ) I am currently concentrating on mutual funds only and might look into shares as well later. Can I open an account from abroad?

2. I am planning to invest above 20,000 per month. Need help in building the portfolio.

Risk: medium to high
Time horizon: 5 Yrs
Purpose: Accumulate money for use after 5 yrs

Thanks in advance

Default Just avoid HDFC Bank's Netbanking to online trade in Mutual Funds

HDFC Bank is not sending file to registrar on the same day and usually there is one or two days delay.

In the attached document they have claimed *Get same days NAV* but it is blatant lie.

The fund remains blocked with them for 1 or 2 days. It is simply unethical.

I am buying mutual funds using HDFC Bank netbanking and I always get same day NAV. Please check your time of applying. They have cut-off earlier than registrar time(i think it was 12 Noon for same day nav)

It was submitted at 10:10 and it was Friday day 27th Oct. The investment was in liquid fund. The cut off time for this fund is 13:00 PM. The file to CAMSONLINE registrar of HDFC MF was sent after 13:00 PM. They didn't apply Friday's NAV and Saturday being a non business at HDFC MF, they allotted units only on Sunday i.e. 29th Oct.

When I took up the matter with HDFC Bank, they first tried to mislead me and when I examined their claim in details, they did accept they sent the file after 13:00 PM.

The whole approach of HDFC Bank has been unethical.

Weird. I guess it might have been a slip, because I have invested in about five funds continuously over the last eight months, and always got the same day's NAV.

It might just be that your experience with their support personnel has been bad - which I have also found. Maybe you should write a letter to the chairman and publish it.

U need to ask for an "investment service agreement form" fill it up and submit it to your nearast branch, you will be received investment service account number, you need to provide this account number while purchaseing or redeem MF throuth HDFC net banking, funds will be credited or debited from you savinsgs account,(customer id ), but remember you will not able to buy or sell all the MF availble in the market. in kolkata the form is available, if not available in your city, talk to branch manager
