This is an indicator that the market is devising new methods of getting better returns than plain-vanilla index funds. MO's fundamentally weighted ETF have stocks from the index but change their percentage holding. This is a good start and we have long ways to go.
However, what I am looking for is a whole array of fundamentally weighted ETFs from all the fund houses that compete with each other. Then one can sit and compare their earnings and debate which is a good one.

This etf is a clear avoid, because this does not reflect the index perfectly.

Though the stocks are from the nifty, the weightage/percentage is left to the fund manager, which doesn't reflect an index fund. This could be termed as yet another large cap fund only and not ETF.

you could buy hdfc equity or other similar funds, which have performed well over 10 yrs giving consistent returns of about 25% -30% pa.
