Fund Suggestion

#1
Hello,

Apart from HDFC Top200 Fund & Birla Sunlife Frontline Equity Funds, can anyone suggest me some excellent Large Cap funds?

Also, how is Reliance Equity Opportunities Fund in Flexi/Multi Cap category vis-a-vis DSP Blackrock Equity Fund & HDFC Equity Fund?

Thanks in advance!:)

DSP 100.
Franklin Prima Plus is another one, 4 stars - it used to be excellent performer, but underperformed for couple of years. This year it is doing okay again.

Good large cap funds... often not discussed in this forum
Quantum long term equity- growth
UTI Divident yield growth
Both r 5 star(acc to VRO) rated funds with on par performance when compare with popular funds

I would also suggest DSPBR Top 100. Quantum long term equity and Fidelity equity also comes to my mind.
Reliance Equity Opp has returned excellent returns last year, while it was a little subdued the previous 2 years. The fund manager has taken quite many aggressive calls of late.

But reliance equity opp is a mid and small cap fund...

Lets keep the 'Cap' figure out...Don't you think DSPBR Equity Fund has performed far far better than DSPBR Top 100 Fund, during all time frames (As per Value Research comparison)?

So why one stick to 'Large Cap' mentality when one gets better returns with 'Multi Cap' funds? Same with HDFC Top 200 fund & HDFC Equity fund... The later has given better results and both are managed by same fund manager - Prashant Jain.

You made an interesting observation. The 2 equity funds are not just multi-cap, they can also be called as flexi-cap. The fund managers increased allocation into mid&small cap stocks at times while at other occasions (based on NSE/sensex) they bought more of very large & large cap stocks. Atleast these 2 equity funds definitely has given more returns with slightly more risk/volatility associated with it, ofcourse.
