Dear Sirs,

I want to invest in Reliance Pharma. It is seen that this fund has given huge returns in the past. However, reputed portals like value research, money control etc. have not rated this fund.

I request the financial gurus to kindly comment on the furture of this fund. Whether we as an aam admi should invest in it.

Thanks

Reliance Farma is a Sector fund. It will do well when Pharma sector does well. but it will also perform poorly when sector goes through rough stage.

The decision to invest depends upon how bullish you are on Pharma sector.

But as a rule of thumb, don't let such sector funds exceed 20-25% of your entire portfolio.

Even though it is a sector fund investing by SIP for next 2 to 3 years should give positive returns but may not give stellar returns.

keep it to below 10% of portfolio.

Happy investing.

Thank you, Sir for the advice. So there is no mistake to keep some investment in this fund as well.

Could you kindly explain in details the meaning of 'how bullish in pharma sector".

Thanks in advance.

If you believe that Pharma sector is going to do well in coming years, you can invest in the fund.

On the other hand if you are not so sure, keep low exposure to Pharma funds. better still, invest in a Diversified Equity Fund & the fund will determine the Pharma sector & other sectoral exposures based on analysis & research.
